"Not" Back to School Hop: Curriculum Week

I've been away from this blog for a LONG time. We've been enjoying our Summer break, but I am SO ready to get back to a regular schedule. Being idle is not good for this naturally lazy girl!

I'm super excited to be using new curriculum this year. It's quite the learning curve for me considering this is actually my first year using curriculum. I'm loving all the planning that goes into using curriculum, but I look to the future and wonder how I am gonna do it when I have more than one kid educating at a time. That should be fun...

I'm linked up to Heart of the Matter's "Not" Back to School Blog Hop

Not Back to School Blog Hop

Here's what we are doing this year
{First Grade}
Five in a Row Volume 1

{Tot School}
I'm watching a 2 year old boy so along with my almost 2 year old boy they will be doing lots of playing, games, building, and doing some sensory tubs from 1+1+1=1 and printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler

We are starting school in just a few more weeks, can't WAIT!

Sounds like we are at similar stages. I have been teaching my kids since they were little...just a way to spend the day together and pass the time...nothing strict or regimented. But since my 5 yr old wasnt supposed to start Kindergarten till this fall when he is almost 6, and he was showing major readiness, I did K curriculum (if thats what you want to call it) last yr...it was the first time I was diligent to do a regular school schedule but I was trying out so many different things. I finally decided that this time Im picking a straight up written curriculum that comes in a box and tells me what to do and teach and then I could tweak it if I want. We are using Rod and staff this time and I am so excited about it. I also have a 3 and 1 yr old so I am glad you shared your other links about 1+1+1=1 because I need to find some stuff to occupy my youngest. Thanks. Cant wait to see what your journey looks like :) Marybeth Santos www.teachableme.blogspot.com

Sounds like we are at similar places. Ive been doing all my own pull it together random different curriculums thus far, I decided to use an entire curriculum from Rod and staff this year and am so excited. Almost all the planning I was doing is already done for me. I cant wait. Also cant wait to share this journey and see what the yr has in store for us. I will add you to pages I follow. Have a great school yr! Marybeth Santos www.teachableme.blogspot.com
